Barbara A. Bernstein, Ph.D.

Barbara Bernstein, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist licensed in the States of New York and Connecticut. Her psychotherapy practice includes work with children, adolescents. adults. and families. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Bernstein recently authored the revision of a Child Sexual Abuse and Abduction Prevention program which is used extensively in Westchester County, New York; and served as the Project Coordinator to implement a New York State Department of Education grant designed to teach Abduction Prevention skills to elementary school children. In these latter capacities she coordinated presentation of school programs and trained school personnel in the implementation of these safety curricula.

Dr. Bernstein graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Psychology (and was elected to the honor societies of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi), and received a Doctorate in Psychology from the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York. Dr. Bernstein also completed a post-graduate certificate program in the Treatment of Child and Family Sexual Abuse at the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service and later taught in that program.
